A listserv
is an e-mail discussion on a particular subject (click
here for a more detailed overview of listservs) . Participants must
first subscribe to the listserv by sending an e-mail message to a subscription
address.

Newsgroups
A News Group
is discussion forum in which participants link to a site where they can
post comments and reply to the comments of others. "Moderated" Newsgroups
require participants to apply for membership in a newsgroup. The
links to moderated newsgroups below link to "join" pages where those wishing
to participate may apply
writing_web_text: A moderated newsgroup focusing on the influence of technology on writing.
Wild Poetry Newsgroups: Unmoderated newgroups on various poetry and the composition of poetry. Discussion topics include sacred poetry, lyric poetry, and epic poetry.
writers_cafe: A moderated newsgroup designed for creative writers to join a community of writing, get feedback on their own writing and "test out new ideas."
