Cultural Contact­An International Forum of College

Students in Athens, Ohio and Ronneby, Sweden

Students in Albert Rouzie's English 151, Rhetoric and Writing, at Ohio University and Michael Davis' American Culture course at the University of Karlskrona/Ronneby engage in two kinds of electronic interchange. Each group will be divided up into a MU* group and a newsgroup forum group. We are meeting three times in a MU*, a text-based virtual reality environment called DaMOO, or a newsgroup, and also all of us will be writing messages to the newsgrop forum. Find below the dates, times, and topics of each MU* session and the topic and link for the Web forum. Students in each class are analyzing the transcripts of the MU* sessions (put on-line--see the links below) to explore cultural differences between the two groups on the topics and readings discussed. All projects will be posted on the Web sites.
